Default Will Proline beadlocks work properly with other brands of tires/tyres?

I was about to buy the proline 2.2/3.0 wheels then I realised it says "Pro-Line bead-loc wheels work with Pro-Line tires ONLY due to the inner webbing bead design"

Is this true or just marketing trick to get people to buy proline tires?

this thread talks about it some years back but it isn't conclusive https://www.rctech.net/forum/electric-off-road/517322-proline-beadlocks-only-proline-tires.html

I have the exact same question. Looking to mount DuraTrax tires on Pro-Line Bead Lock wheels. Is anyone doing this? The bead lock wheel description says Pro Line tires only?

I think you are limited to Proline tires. I once tried to get them to work on some JConcept tires, but the fit was not quite right. I agree with you. It is so you are limited to Proline tires.

Maybe, and didn't mention big deal at all. Just might get a quicker response in offroad thread.

Check with some guys on Oval RC. They have a good website on You Tube. Look up Mark Clauss. He does Mudboss oval and I think they are running programs in Pa. and NY now.

Yes, we run with Mark and the Oval RC guys at the Rink in Boyertown. They say most any tire brand will fit on the bead locks. We mounted Dura Trax Bandito tires on them no problem.
