Xxtra and XXL both works, XXL of course you'll have to get the KO version. But are you using it with gas or electric cars? I would NOT recommend and Novak receivers with gas!!! My very first race this past season, I had an Xxtra in my MRX3 and it started to glitch... and having an 1/8th scale glitching down a 200 ft long straight is not a funny thing!
Xxtra is not expensive, you can pick one up on ebay brand new for about $70, I sold 2 brand new on there before for the same price.
In comparison, I have an Xxtra,3 XXL and a KO receiver, I still say KO rec'ver is th best. I only use the Xxtra on my 1/12th scale at big races so I only need to hold onto a case of TX crystals so I can get more practice times.

Try www.redmondhobbies.com or Ricky's rc cars (don't remember their site), those 2 are recommended by KO distributor.

Depending what I get i'll decide whether to use it in my nitro or electric. I went by my local hobby shop yesterday and they have the new ko receivers for around 80US. I was ready to buy it but they were out of 75MHz. As for the XXtra, it is too big to use in my nitro car. Also, although it only costs 70, after shipping and taxes, it'll be about 90!
I'm going to another hobby shop today with my radio to try out different receivers. The owner said that he has a hitec one that should work. I'll let you know how that works.

KO is KO
Why not stick with the KO receivers? In my opinion they are the best in the market. If you have the old radios get the 297. If you have the new type R radio, get the 301.

re:
i agree ... the recievers reception is going to be alot better if you use the ko reciever over the xxtra , or xxl novak !!!! not to mention , if you have the new 301 reciever.. it's pretty damn small. just like the xxl, but better.... also the kopropo's looks better w/ the carbon look.
