For springs I think Xray are used for they are consistent from package to package and easy to get.
Myself i always preferred Yokomo springs. I go to them first them to Xray.
SMJ Red are very similar to the Xray 2.5 - 2.8 springs.

So how is the car performing? For it being sold out on the first run there are very few posts on the car.

I'm stilling waiting for mine to show up. I missed the first shipment. I got to hold one at 180 Raceway and it looks really well built. Definitely need to take time during the initial assembly from what I was told.

I need to change my answer. Yesterday I had a race meeting with a lot of drivers attending. 17.5t, hand-out motor, ETS Carpet track '9 sec laps'. I noticed the in a 6 min run that the last minute I lost a tiny bit of power compared to a 8000mah Lipo. I haven't noticed it in lap times, but now seen it on track. It's not much and still could take the win, just got really tight at the end.

Like I said above yesterday I had my First race meeting with the MI7 after a hand full of practice runs.
We have an '9 sec lap' track with ETS carpet which get build up every day. Although it's a local race it attracts more drivers then a National race and competition is quit high. My MI6evo was one point after 2 years of testing and setup.
The MI6evo ran 9.7, the MI7 ran 9.5. So I've broken my personal record and the track record (by 0.1). The car felt good, but the setup is not quite there yet (also missing some essential setup parts for the car). Then again it's already faster after a hand full of practice runs.
Just an awesome car. Fellow racer ran his MI7 for the second time and also broken his personal record and loves the car, really easy to run, really safe, yet extremly fast.

Awesome job from the Schumacher team! Can't wait for the next track day!

Regards Robert

Most people are running mid motor. Its easier to drive hard with the mid motor.

Just wanted to double check where everyone was measuring droop on the car. I’m guessing when using the droop gauge and spacer we’re just picking up the very edge of the outer carbon fiber arms?

Ran the mid motor with a 21.5 for the first time on sweep 32's, and with an old mazda 6 body on a new track layout for the first time. At first I was nervous in Run 1, which went ok, but better in run 2 with slight adjustment to ride height. Then for the third run, I found that the car was good.
Did experience some traction roll, which you can see in video that I recorded, which is currently uploading.

Overall I am impressed with the car, and it is faster than my older TC.

Got a chance to run mine this weekend, very impressed with the car so far. Ran over 200+ lapse without a single part failure and zero parts breakage after a few board meetings. Car responds well to setup changes.

Anyone know what that thin 3m tape is called that people put on the battery/chassis to prevent the micro scratches under the battery?

SMJ sells it, ref SMJ1025. I usually put a 2cm piece at each end of the battery, so there is less friction and I can do several chassis with one sheet.
