A well set-up TC-3 is still very competitive and some drivers prefer that over the TC-4.

Go for the TC-3, you know you want too.

no doubt, TC3 is well competitive TC, but considering that u just start in RC that mean ur driving skill not good enough, TC3 might hurt your wallet since TC3 can easyli broke if ge coallision, maybe u can get Tamiya TA04 "R" type. with plastic u won't broke ur car that easy.

I'd have to agree that if you're on a tight budget get yourself a used TC3. A great car for a small amount of cash only because there are so many out there. You can not go wrong with a TC3, plus parts are readily available

Any opinions?
How about the tamiya cars? Which ones should I consider?
What about the STR-4? It looks nice but is it worth the hassel of having to mail order parts?

Thanks in advacne for your help.
is there a Tamiya TCS racing venue near you? if there is, i recommend going with the TA05 or TA04. if you dont have any TCS races near you, go with the TC3.

Hi!

Honestly, If I were to pick a car from your list, I wouldn't pick any. Why don't you get a more competitive car such as:

HB Cyclone
HPI Pro4
Top Racing Scythe
Tamiya 415MSX
X-ray T1-FK05
X-ray T2

The cars listed above are all race proven and used by world champions. Forget the STR-4. A used TC4 is better than the TC3. The HPI Sprint is just for fun and not made for racing. HPI Pro2 and Pro3 are not into production anymore. Getting old used cars might be a problem when getting parts.

This is just my suggestion. Ofcourse, it's still up to you depending on your budget and which car will make you feel comfortable the most.

Well your suggestion isn't worth anything, you obviously haven't read the thread.

If not a TC3, why not look into an used TB02, it'll be good on parking lot because of the sealed drivetrain, better than the TA04 for sure.

You're right, a TC3 isn't a race proven chassis. Many drivers still prefer the TC3 over the TC4. Hell the TC3 won Cleveland two years ago, and the tc4 was available then. Actually quite a few people ditched their TC4's and broke out the old out-dated TC3's because they were faster. A TC3 for $75 is by far the best deal out there. Sure a Pro4 or T2 would be better, but even used they cost almost three times the budget specified in this thread.

Thanks for all the replies and advice.
It sounds like the TC3 is the way to go.

The TB-02 is an interesting suggestion. I would have thought that it could be a decent racer. I will have too keep my eyes open for those also.

Thanks again for all the replies and if anybody else has an opinion/suggestion please feel free to keep posting!
