If there is a Fry's Electronics, they will have stuff for much cheaper. Buying stuff online is cheaper, like from digitech, but shipping will pretty much make it the same as buying it from a store, unless you buy enough that the discounts per item outweight shipping costs.

Excuse me if this is a dumb question, but are the diode and resistor wired in series or parallel?

Thanks

The only dumb question is the one not asked
Series: (cell +end) --diode--resistor-- (cell -end)

Isnt that series?
this would be parallel
(cell +end) ______resistor______(cell -end)
|___diode____|

EDIT:err....ok its not letting me line them up, anyways just like up the two |'s before cell ends

ok..another NOOB question.. diodes have + and - end. right? where does it show up above?

[cell + ][+ diode] --- [diode -][cell -]

or

[cell + ][- diode] --- [diode +][cell -]

sorry i dont know squat about this stuff. i can build one hell of a website though!

The white band around the diode goes towards the negative end of the battery.

This is for a IIIIII pack but with some thought it can be modified: http://www.schumacher.clara.net/equaliser.htm

How far down will this take the cells? .09v? and will this dead short or just equalize?

Equilize, dead shorting is when you physically connect the positive and negative ends of the battery together.
