it has to be right this time (battery maintance)
hay guys i have hat alot of batteries but i havent maintained them very well. but now i am buying alot of 3800 packs from team brood. and i just wonna now how to maintance them because i have gotten so many answers but i am not sure if people that i talk with knows anything about the IB cells. so i would be very happy if anyone that knows a thing ore 2 could tell me how to maintaine them.

What I do to maintain my IB3800 is:
1. equalize on Team wave discharger until 0.9v per cell
2. Linear charge at 6A
3. run car
4. discharge with Integy 030 until lights go out
5. discharge and equalize on Team wave discharger until 0.9v per cell
6. store until next use (if store for more then 2 weeks, put 500second of charge back in)
if you are not storing, wait till it's completly cool and start the whole procedure again.
so far I am having good results by doing this. Lots of run time and punch.

discharge to 5.4v Volts is correct however that is only on a discharge tray.
if you are to discharge a pack in series (i.e using a regular charger) you should cut off the voltage at 6Volts, and then use a tray (smart tray, exceed or lightning teamwave)
when you set your charger to cut off at 5.4v it is 0.9v per cell average, some cells above and some below 0.9v, this not good. not only does it take some cells to below 0.9volts, it also pretty much renders your equlizing tray useless if you have cut off at 0.9 coz some cells would of already been discharge to below 0.9v.
just some common sence that doesnt seem too common

Stick Pack Batteries
Guys,
Any tips to store/maintain IB 3800 stick pack? I bought a few packs for the upcoming inagural TAMIYA race in Malaysia.... been using them for bashing. Since i don't have the batteries side-by-side configuration, can i use the LRP discharger (for stick pack). Does it yield the same effect as mentioned earlier - for side by side cell configuration?
What I have done so far is to let the pack cool down for a couple of hours (after use) and then charge at 5.0A until it peaks. Store it until next usage (a couple of days or weeks), I dare not use the LRP discharger since it takes donkey years (probably because of its low 1A discharge rate) for the light to go off,
