Default Outdrive question

Hi guys

It might be a silly question but:

I pulled apart my front drive section today as I am fitting double jointed drive shafts. Part of the process was to replace the outdrives. Whilst I was reassembling them I realised that I did not take note whether the drive key i"ll call it (where the drive shaft fits into the outdrive) were "inline" or offset by 90 degrees. Does this matter ???

I've run it both ways, and I don't think it really matters. I just looked at my TC7.2 manual, and the picture shows it "inline." I usually run mine offset.
