Default Associated RC10L 1/10 pan car question

I have an RC10LS0 that I want to use for a road course, and the front end seems to have been rebuilt with a mish mash of parts. Maybe this is right, maybe it isn't.

The front end has the dynamic front suspension, like an RC10L2. Kingpins and springs beneath.

On on right side of the front end, it has the circlip axle stub and steering arm with a single hole. On the left side it has the threaded axle and locknut, and a steering arm with two locations for the rod end.

Is this right? What pieces should be there? I want to use this car on a road course so I don't want the steering set up for left turns only, if that's what the previous owner did here.

I'm not following the descriptions for offset arm, etc in the Associated catalogue. They make it sound like the threaded axle stub version uses different bearings. Is that right? What was better, the threaded axle stub or the clip retainer? Are they interchangeable?

Thanks,
Tim

One more question: How do I tell the older style rear shock from the newer internal seal design? Mine looks like the seals are all internal as all I see is the shock rod extending from the machined aluminum housing and the only way to open it up and insert parts or seals is from the plastic bottom.
