Default Best Fuel to run

Hello,
Just bought a SH .28 8 port engine.
What is the best % of Nitro Fuel and Oil % to Break in Engine and to continue using?

I would use what the manual recommends.

My os manual recommends 18% but I've never used anything near that. I've always used 8-9% oil in a castor/synthetic blend.

Your engine pinch won't last as long and you have less tuning forgiveness. I alway run 17-18% oil lube in everything I have.

Hummmm. Been running them on the 9% for almost 20 years and they're still running good. I think I'm going to stay with 9%. If you're ok with that...

9% is race fuel and 16% is backyard bashing fuel. You will not be able to tune a engine the same with different% of oil lube. Less tunning with less % oil lube.

Don't know what to tell you. My os12r and os18r both like 9%. They tune easy and run like a raped ape. Not going to change that because some random guy says I need too much oil. I run them in my back yard, I run them in the street. I've been doing this way too long to believe everything someone posts on a forum. I'll stick with my 9%.

YEA??? Your tuning window is smaller and your engine has less protection from a lean run and your engines run hotter. Oil lube dissipates heat and cools the engine.

Yea.. My tuning window is plenty big enough for me to find my tune. Engine hasn't sustained any damage in about twenty years. The engine runs about 240-260 degrees depending on what I'm running on. Maybe, just maybe I know what I'm doing. You seem to like to tell other people how to do their sh**. You go buy your screws off e bay and use 16% oil. I really don't care. But you shouldn't be giving bad advise. Makes you look bad.

This is where I got my info from not out of the air like you. LO

Your engine is running toooo hot. Normal should be around 200 Degrees or less for .12-18 size engines. Mine run at 175-200 degrees. .21 at 225 degrees. All those years of running didn't add up to much!!!!!!!! It's the gallons that tell the story. 2 cases a summer for me. I guess you run quarts!!!!!!!! So stop giving bad advice!!!!!!!
