I left the front belt loose, but should I tighten it up to match the rear belt or not?

Thanks!
to avoid rubbing against the motor mount, install a bearing on the other side of the batt stopper. Works just like a belt tensioner

I'm thinking if there was any significant friction, the logos would have been rubbed off.
Thanks! I will loosen the belt back where I like it!

Building this car for USGT.

Any idea what pinion and spur to start with. Slighty large indoor, crc black carpet track. Any different springs needed?

Iím currently at 96/54 but itís the back of the motor mount. I picked up a few smaller spurs in 1 tooth increments.

imo front belt should always be tighter than rear, having front belt looser will cause rear wheels to spool up sooner and cause over rotation on power. I don't think he belt rubbing on the motor mount will be an issue but if you are concerned they do have a belt tensioner you can install

damn. I'm not running the "spec" motor yet as it hasn't arrived. but I was wondering the same.. currently with the r1 21.5 I'm geared 47/96.. you think I'll go up 5+ teeth on the pinion with the motor swap, seems substantial

I run on smaller track! The motor has a lot of torque. I was running 96/51, 3.576 FDR. This weekend went down to 90/48, FDR: 3.562 to start. Then experimented with 90/49 (where I ran most day 3.49), was very happy across the board. Another driver tried 90/50, FDR: 3.42. That was similar, but thought might be losing on the infield, but lap times were maintained and more consistent for him. AS the track gets larger, I have heard being 3.2-3.4. You will need to adjust to your liking.

Thanks for the gearing tips.

Do you run the 23mm thick packs? Or the thinner LCG 18mm packs?

Sunpadow 7.4V 5300mAh 130C/65C LiPo Battery Top Series Part Number S653065
I personally run a LCG pack at 272g. Some say go to larger pack like 8000,8400, etc. then re-balance car. Gives better run times late in the run. Will try new McClan 8500, 305g or so which be a good option.

Thanks. I'll try to find a battery around 270g's. The ULCG battery is only 230ish, so that's 6 extra steel weights, and that's a bit much.

I'm going to try a heavy SMC aluminum ESC first. I have an extra Tekin RS spec available if I need a lighter ESC.
