I've seen it done, they all throw winds however
My point exactly. Attempting to crank a motor with a lock damages the winding.

I made the mistake of water dipping one of those motor and ruined it in a matter of minutes.
Put it in the car and drive it for five minutes, then clean. That'll do the trick. If water dipping, be veewwwwwwy cawwefuuuulll...30 seconds at a time. More fun to run it in the car, though...

Default motor break in!!!

A friend of mine travels to Saudi Arabia on buisness a couple of times a month. On his days off....when he's there......he searches for a special root from a small indiginous shrub. Each root will give up a couple of drops of moisture........liquid gold as he calls it.......he swears that his silver can motors will produce incredible numbers when a tiny amount gets put on the comm during break in!!!!

LOL Good One

My son made me promise never to tell but here goes. We rub seven Tibetan herbs and spices very slowly on the outside of our silver can motors to get that extra special something out of them. Their not really any faster but they do smell good.

Just Remove From Box and Bolt in Car! Watch how it gets Faster for the first few Runs Then after it starts to slow down, Spray it out with Motor Spray until the Run Off is Clear. First Lubricate the Bushing with Super Super Light Oil This will Get Lubricant "Into" The Bushing, Then Move Armature Back in Forth to "Work" in Lubricant, then Back it up with a good Heavier Bushing Lube and Work "into" the Bushing. After I lube a Bushing I leave the Motor In an Upright Position to get the Oil "Into" the Bushing Just for about a Minute, then I do the Other Side. The light oil Saturates the Bushing and the heavier oil is a better lubricant because it don't Burn off as easy.

As a last step in silver can tuning. Store you motors and batteries inside a pyramid. It helps preserve and even enhances the magnets.

It also breaks down the crystals forming in your battery.

NOTE: I read from an ancient book from way way back that the pyramid sides should form 35 degrees with the ground. This should be exactly followed

Shake-N-Bake. . . would be good with a side of fries.

The cool thing about black canned motors is they look like real cars when they blow an engine. Gotta love that white smoke look!

Zapping is the term used when electronically "adding" more magnetic field to your motor. Thus with stronger magnets you can get more power, more torque and more gearing into the motor.

Think of your motor/magnets as a cup. Cups come in different sizes which is indicated as the materials used in the motors/magnets. You can fill up the cup but you will reach their limits when the liquid overflows. Same thing happens to magnets, they only fill so much.

Does it work, it can but usually it might effect older motors than newer ones. I tried it on 3 new hand-out motors for a race, did not really change anything. Is it worth the hassle, well if you are looking to beat factory drivers on an international scale, it "might" make a difference if you are looking for every little trick to gain an advantage.

Some motors might need zapping after every race while other might only need it once. Could Silver Canned motors benefit, perhaps but their magnets are not too good to begin with. I do not worry about it.

thankyou for yor repley a-ko dan ya funny bugger. i read about zapping but it doesnt tell ya how 2 do it. is there one for sale. never seen one. the only way i could think of doing it would be how you magnetize a screw driver by wrapping wire around it putting 1 end of the wire to neg of 12v battery and the other 2 pos side

Yeah that is close but alot more wire. Usually the lights dim when you flip the switch. The cheaper ones start at around $500.
