I received the A800FXC kit and in the process of building. The kit has pre-filled dampers, with the instructions stating that they come with 500 cst oil. However the dampers I received, 2 seem to have a much higher viscosity oil than the other 2. The bag that the dampers came in were not marked in English, so I don't know the labeling! Can anyone tell me what the CST on the thicker damper is? I assume the other 2 are around 500 cst. Also I assumed that the "thicker" dampers would be used in the front suspension....

I didn’t worry about it , just rebuilt them , F45/R30 ae oil . Looking at the few setups posted drivers were keeping the A gaps really small which to me says the oil is too thick to start off with .

Yes you are right ..I did noticed the same ..Not sure what viscosity oil came in the kit .. What I did I use the thinner feel in the Rear and higher damper in the front ..or refill your own oil ..

Finally got to run my car today !!!
Unfortunately didn’t have a good hot hatch body tho.... the tank I had on it make it very tippy with old warn tires.
But had a blast driving it with a random assortment of usgt bodies and the tank .
I ran with the vta group first as my car had a 25.5 geared at 3.97 (motiv mc2 @44*) with the (100g)suv body and 0 added weight car was 1180 .
Vta ran 12.0 FLaps
i ran 11.7 with the fwd
got moved to usgt , I attempted to change to a Ford gt body for comparison using the 25.5 I can 11.5 with that body .
Next round I put a 21.5 (R1 v16 fdr4.16 @48*) in to try and swapped to a bitty AGATO body and managed to run 10.9 FL
the other usgt cars were running 10.9 FLaps also .
For the mains 2 others pulled there fwds out so I went back to the 25.5 motor and SUV body . But by now the tires have woke up and we’re making more grip so I had traction roll issues with the top heavy body .
Car was a blast to drive and using the 25.5 motor has a super open setup window . Built it box stock except with 40wt front oil and 25wt rear oil . Ran the rear at A0/B4 with type 2, 0toe ,0camber , 4 long caster .
Front was box stock settings .

I've also learned the car is very capable in the USGT class against the 4WD tourers.. One black carpet that is.. Not sure how it would fair on tarmac.

laptimes were on par with the fastest 4WD with the same USGT (Gravity) tire.. we both were just a tick slower per lap than the winner (VBC Fwd with slicks)

very happy with the first outting. solid car.

in flowing asphalt track they can keep up if they can maintained the corner speed , if you are on a stop and go track you will be way off pace, thats what i learned racing the FWD a year ago with the USGT class, the FWD never had the rip out of the corner.

Yes,

It all comes down to personal preference of driving style. I cant say one or the other 'went faster'

the spool was a lot faster on my RaceOpt Front wheel drive car, you can always just put 2.5mil in the front diff

I have been an RC racer for over 25 years.F1 ,then TC ,then back to F1 a couple of years ago because TC got way to intensive.Wenn I saw that Xray was going to build a FWD ,I reserved one right away.Been driving it off and on (mainly racing F1) since Feb.Really nice car ,fun and easy to drive.Sold it yesterday and ordered the A800FX.The new techniques and innovations seduced me.In Germany the A800FX in allowed in all FWD series, even the TOS that is real close to ETS.The final decision not to allow the A800FX in the ETS has not been announced. The first ETS race is in Sept. ,so the decision will be announced soon.
