Tamiya M-08

Huh? You realize he was talking about the Tamiya M-08 back then, which has been out (both as standard M-08 and hopped-up M-08R) for years now?

If it is, then it's probably the most useless case of a bot I've seen.

Has anyone played with different front caster on the aluminum suspension mounts? So many of them…no idea if any are worthy purchases…I’d assume the little bit of additional weight would be good…but I don’t know how the caster options would perform.

Stick with the Tamiya M07 front C-hubs (make sure to get the matching caster plate). Even the carbon version M07 C-hub is relatively still durable. I would not run the M08 C-hubs with the stupid insert.
For the rear hub, the aluminum option piece is pricey but allows more adjustment options. On my M08R, I'm still running the plastic rear hub and feel it is already in a good roll center position.

I run the 07 C blocks with the 4 degree shiny piece. The front is dialed with a slight predictable push at speed. It's very stable and gives up nothing at slow speed.

Anybody using open holed ball cups (probably incorrect phrase) so you can unscrew them vs popping on and off?
I know the R version has them…but often other brands are more rigid.
also…does anyone have a spring set part number vs buying individual springs? Thanks as always

Today was one of my best races ever, and it was with my M08R! We had our fifth Mini championship race of the year, and it was on a big Indoor ETS carpet track. So it was all in and get out the M08 for this special conditions and very high grip level. We had 5 heats, and the 3rd on Saturday evening left me with 3 seconds behind the fastest guy with his M07 Miata, but 2 other Minis between him and me.
But Sunday my pace came up, and to my own surprise I saw me taking the Pole in the last heat with a little droop tuning and hard inserts on the front S-Grips. 2 other M08R were my wingmen, but today I was lucky fastest one, although running LWB. Top guys in our class drive MWB to 90% to be more agile out of the box. My nerves were highy stressed with a lack of runtime this year, but I could win the A-final for the first time in my life with a RWD Mini. Car was dialed today, and very consistent over the run. It was pure fun, seeing me with 3 start to finish runs with no major mistakes.
Unfortunately but also luckywise I only have a bad Handy video from a friend showing the start in the second A-final. Behind me is the white M07 Miata and another green Yaris M07. From place 4 my friend Steffen is coming up right from the start with his white blue Lotus M08R. Hope you like it,
Keep on racing,
Matthias
