I've read. Been lurking for a while after winning my 08r at tcs(well my son did in the raffle) in Jackson and with outdoor season getting ready to kick off I figured get it up to snuff. Still have parts to order like the m07 front caster bits for durability. How are the aluminum c hubs or stick to plastic?

Stick with the Tamiya M07 front C-hubs (make sure to get the matching caster plate). Even the carbon version M07 C-hub is relatively still durable. I would not run the M08 C-hubs with the stupid insert.

For the rear hub, the aluminum option piece is pricey but allows more adjustment options. On my M08R, I'm still running the plastic rear hub and feel it is already in a good roll center position.

will gluing them in help with durability. Also has anybody tried the m05 or m06 aluminum c hubs if they fit or is that not allowed also?

Yep, this is correct. The hop up steering has the worst tolerance I have seen in a Tamiya hop up. Don’t waste you money and stick with the plastic

Thanks for that i was finding them a little softer than the blue from the spring set which is why i asked. the gold springs i will try them at some point. but have to start racing more. always asphalt season i suppose to get more practice.

And 1 deg toe out also helps stopping wandering. And a shimmed plastic steering setup with the open face ball adjusters has very little slop. No problem at all for running straight.

I've been out of RC for a good long while now and decided to pick up a M08 to mess around with on the tennis courts at my apartment. The plan is to take my time and relearn how to drive and tune a car and maybe race down the road. I also picked up a Sanwa MT-R, a Tamiya FL Tuned 30T and a Tamiya 04 speed control. Not looking for anything super quick, just running around type stuff. I know I should consider the M07 rear uprights but is there anything else I should know to make a solid sport beater? No clue on bodies or tires yet but I kinda like the Alpine or the Alpha. Thanks guys!

Body just came in. Mazda mx5, now to figure out the color for it. Anybody have any ideas I've always done spray bombs of ps18 purple on all my bodies for the past 5 years. So confused on witch way to go with it. I did a box art gt86 body for last year's tcs race that won best gt but that was just a copy past of what's on the box. The box art is so simple with this one lol

In my opinion as soon as you hit a surface with any amount of decent grip you will want the 54757 sway bar set. If you have access to setup tools a cheap but very effective hop-up is the 54987 suspension mount shim set as the plastic parts as well as the kit shims can have tolerances and you might not have equal left/right rear toe and camber.

So I'm getting my M0-8r ready for TCS, racing on Black carpet, when I take off from the start line it instantly pulls to the left, using the gear diff with 15K in it, new hard radial tires, glued sidewalls and first row of tread. Any thoughts?

Not unusual. Standing start will magnify any unevenness in traction. Feed the power in.
