Default 2019 Reedy International Touring Car Race of Champions

What started out many years ago as Mike Reedy's vision to showcase the world's best drivers in a format unlike any other ever used in RC racing, has grown to be one of the most anticipated and prestigious RC races in the world.

Reedy, Team Associated, and Scotty Ernst Productions are proud to announce that the Reedy International Touring Car Race of Champions will call Steel City Speedway in Fontana, California its new home with the inaugural event scheduled for May 23-26, 2019!

Phil and Kyle Goodwine, the visionaries behind Steel City Speedway, have created a world-class racing facility that features a monumental driver's stand and an ultra-smooth, high-grip racing surface with a choice of challenging configurations. The track sits on the grounds of the Auto Club Speedway and is part of a motorsports mecca that features a kart racing track, auto-x events, and a drag strip in addition to the 2-mile NASCAR oval. The Reedy Race is proud to partner with the Goodwines and look forward to a prosperous future at this incredible facility.

Entries open March 12 at Noon PDT exclusively on www.reedyrace.com and will be taken on a first come, first served basis. Due to time constraints and to maintain the world-class nature of the event, total entries are capped at 170 for the Open classes. This year, the Sportsman and Expert spec classes will be powered by 13.5-turn Reedy 540-FT fixed-timing handout motors to even the playing field and reduce costs. The Modified class will remain unchanged, with the winner receiving the honor of competing in the Invitational class in 2020!

Factory-sponsored drivers (those whose travel arrangements are paid for by their sponsor and/or are paid a salary to race), or those who have finished in the A Main in the Modified class in either of the previous two years, are not eligible to compete in the Expert 13.5 class. Drivers who are sponsored or receive discounts from chassis manufacturers, or who have finished in the A or B Main in the Expert 17.5 or Modified class in either of the previous two years, are not eligible to compete in the Sportsman 13.5 class.

There is a one-entry limit per driver with one set of control tires, souvenir, and welcome bag included with each paid entry. A Reedy 540-FT 13.5 Motor (#294) is included with each Sportsman 13.5 and Expert 13.5 entry with an option to purchase a second motor.

The highlight of the event, the Invitational class, features the best drivers in the world racing head-to-head over 12 rounds for the coveted title of Reedy Race Champion. The Manufacturer's Cup will again be presented to the manufacturer with the lowest combined points tally of their best two finishing drivers.

Timetable for Entries:
Tuesday, March 12 Open and Invitational entries open
Monday, May 6 Deadline for Open and Invitational entries. Spots remaining after the deadline will be filled based on class availability. NO REFUNDS after May 6.

The format and schedule for the event remains like that of last year including all main events run over three legs:
Thursday, May 23 Controlled Practice by Heat
Friday, May 24 Seeding Practice by Heat, Open Qualifying, Invitational Racing
Saturday, May 25 Open Qualifying, Invitational Racing
Sunday, May 26 Main Events, Invitational Racing

Information and updates including, entry, rules, spec tires, hotels, and more will be posted soon at www.reedyrace.com and on Reedy's Facebook Event page.

SCS is a phenomenal location, right at the speedway. I watched the Pro-Line race a couple months ago, some really good action. Fast/Large layout (for 1/10) really lets the cars stretch their legs.

Anyone know if the 13.5 classes will be blinky or timing allowed?

They will be blinky just like the previous years. A Reedy FT 13.5 will be close to the power of "open" 17.5 motors that was used in last years spec classes.
