Tamiya fluorine sealed bearings

Hi,

I have some Tamiya fluorine sealed bearings that I would like to clean.

Removing the seal to open and clean the interior like you do with other kind of sealed bearings is giving me an hard time: the seal is very thin and paper like and if you remove it is easily damaged and difficult to put back.

Do you have any tips on how to properly do the maintenance on this kind of bearings?

Thanks,
Ale

I usually use a sewing pin to pick the retainers and the seals off, they're really flexible so they shouldn't be damaged, at least in my experience.

Just make sure when you put the retainers back on that the seal is not caught in the grooves of the outer ball race. It should float under the retainer clip.
