Just a warning about purchasing from HK (Megatech Branding)

I purchased a Megatech 3PK (non us version) and the LCD has gone out. I called Futaba USA for repair information and they replied:

Futaba USA is distributed through Hobbico USA (towerhobbies) under the "Magnum" branding. All controllers sold outside the US need to be sent to the respective country for warranty work.

He informed me he would do the repairs at my expense.

Just a heads up for all of you trying to save $59.

So has anyone else had problems with the 3PK and the LCD?

pyramid, did you have to gut the whole radio to paint it??? What paint did you use??? I really like the looks of it painted. Was the radio hard to open up and stuff or was it simple??? Sorry for all the questions. Thanks

Also, to anyone, can the HRS receiver be used with ESC's? I understand a digital servo would be needed but what about the ESC???? Can that be used with a digital servo and the HRS???

Thanks

Also, can the trigger spring be adjusted. It seems alittle tight for me. I was hoping the tension could be adjusted.

Warlord: We have 2 instock. Both are HRS models, but I think the owner would sell without the receiver. These are both US Magnum models.

Yes, both are brand new in the box. Came into the store last Tuesday. Let me ask the owner. I work tonight at the track and will let you know.

I'm thinking about getting a 75mhz PCM 3PK. I currently have an R1(for a few years now) and I'm getting tired of the 1.5-2 hrs of battery time i'm getting from it. I was wondering, if I make the switch, will I have to change the servos and other electronics(I have a Hitec steering servo with JR connectors, JR throttle servo, and 1100mah Rx pack) to accomodate the Futaba Rx?

What runtimes are you getting from 1800-2000mah(8cells)?

How's the whole quality and durability of the radio? No persistent LCD problems?

Is $265 a good price for a 3PK with PCM receiver?

Thanks
