The new Futaba 3PK is nice but Don Rice from Futaba was at a big dirt oval race last weekend and brought 3 of the new radios and all of them had problems. The screens kept going blank and they also had a few other problems as well. The 3PJ is harder to program but since it has been out for fair amount of time and so all the bugs are out of it.

My 3PK works great. I've heard others say as well, they couldn't tell the difference w/HRS receiver. I'm currently using the HITEC Module and Novak Syntheseiser receiver with my 3PK and works great. No glitching problems, guys that I race with are also using this combination in their 1/10 & 1/8 scale gas cars with no glitching problems.

The only problem I have with mine, is that the supplied nicad battery pack doesn't hold a charge for very long. I did the 15 hour charge they recommended and I still can't get a decent charge. Maybe I just got a bad nicad pack.

does futaba make a full black color for the 3pk ?
i've always been a futaba fan, but the only thing i dont like about 3pk is the color.

first time i saw it on one of the japanese mags, i thought it was a speed gun.

Hi
I changed my Tx fm EX-1mars to 3PK. I really feel the fast and exact position fm the High response system, very easy and abundant setting manual is I like.

Why the HRS receiver must use 6v and digital servo? that I guess the HRS output very powerful and high resolution signal. So that the digital servo can always get high power output then PPM receiver.
e.g. 8kg 1.00sec servo
HRS receiver output <60angle 8kg 1.00sec
PPM receiver output <60angle 6.5kg 1.30sec
I guess it will happen of low-mid range

**the above result is only my opinion

Default 9 cell packs for the Futaba's

Manticore;

Did you Build or Buy your 9 Cell pack for the 3PK?

Is it AA's or AAA NiMh's?

How does the 9th cell fit in the battery box? (tight, sideways, etc)

Thanks,

Thanks,
i can build one but buying 9 cells will come to have at least 1 cell wastage. so, i just bought a ready made 9 cells pack from LHS.

you dont need the battery box for 9cells. they are soldered together in 4x4x1 configuration with a servo plug into the TX.

Default Misunderstood

Manticore;

Sorry I didn't mean the box (tray) for clip in batteries. I meant the Cavity where the batteries go. For my 3PDF, I built a 8 side by side pack from 1600 mah NiMh's and used Double stick tape to hold it in.

There was some other Guy looking for a 9 cell pack for his Airtronics radio. Do you know what brand the pack is made by?

Thanks,
