Default MTS T3

Is anyone talking about this car? The Hong Kong guys at Race Opt seem to have done some really interesting things to produce a car for under $300.

Foiks in Hong Kong are loving the car. Pretty much OOB apart from getting the 0.4 oring holders for the suspension mounts and going 1.4/1.2 front and rear ARBs.

Really not sure where Marcos gets the idea he invented the T3, when the FF v3 came out with the carbon fiber arms before his version of the T3. You wouldn't think that MTS already had in mind to create a T3 version of their 4 wheeler with the same arms as their FF v3.

They are racing on asphalt, right? Do you think the car is tough enough for carpet and barriers?

I do like Marco's ARS mod for the rear toe.

Almost everyone in Hong Kong who tried this car for the first time immediately put down the Xrays, or Xpresses or Yokomo or whatever they are running and instantly fell in with the T3. That being said, I tried my brothers T3 and didnt have that mutual feeling, most probably because the car wasnt really set properly.

You get what you paid for tho. The quality of the materials are significantly inferior to other manufactures thus parts arent as durable, esp for metal parts as they are really soft. One guy basically shattered his new T3 because some noob stopped at the center on the back straight without saying anything and he just nailed that guy head on. Good thing its cheap enough to replace tho.

Yep we're on asphalt. I don't think any car is tough enough for carpet and the barriers that carpet tracks (I have experience of) come with.

The car does look well designed and quite attractive. Lots of interesting features... I really like the vertical steering bellcrank but I'm not sure about the 8 degrees of KPI... kingpin inclination has some side effects on the geometry during cornering but many/most full scale cars use KPI. Anyway, it looks potentially fast.

The first mod you HAVE to do is change out the stock shocks. To say it bluntly, they suck. Its a one time use shock meaning after 1-2 runs they will start to have air inside them. They are a huge pain to build as well. Save yourself the hassle and just buy yourself a set of Xray or Yokomo or Axon ultra short shocks
