droop
it depends on the ride height and also the tire size. I don't like to use droop tools because the tire size for foam tires at least will change. I use the ride height tool to measure the static ride height...then I lift that end of the chassis up until the tires are just about to come off the ground...then I measure the ride height again. The difference between the two ride heights is the droop. This technique is fast and takes into consideration the tires size.
For rubber tire racing on high grip carpet I like about 1.5mm rear droop and 2mm front droop. For rubber tire asphalt I like 2mm rear droop and 3mm front droop. For carpet foam I like 1mm droop front and rear. |
Good stuff martin! I was actually flipping through your setup book last night.. And was re-reading the droop section!
