Default Mystery Associated TC4 chassis. Help identify.

I bought a used AE TC4 and it has the intials “KB” embossed in gold lettering on the inside of the chassis. This appears to be factory as it is well integrated into the chassis and without any distortion. The seller said it was purchased new from our local Hobbytown and it was not added after the purchase. I reached out to AE but they said that they do not recall ever doing something similar to the chassis. Does anyone have any thoughts? Did I receive a chassis meant for a sponsored driver, etc? This is my first post and I tried attaching pics but I'm not allowed to yet. PM me and I can send pics.

Did the letters look like they had been hammered stamped into the chassis? I was recently rebuilding some used TC4 Club Racers for another racer. I noticed some lettering that was stamped on the chassis and it may have been KB.

If I had to guess, it may have been for quality control for the assembly line where the cars were being built. The club racer came new as a fully assembled chassis, so that may have been a way to track defects or the number of vehicles being built by the assembler. Perhaps AE was outsourcing the TC4 Club racer builds?

I recently purchased some new TC4 chassis directly from Associated. They did not have any lettering stamped or embossed on the chassis.
