Questions/Answers:
Q1. Will the P12 Evo support a traditional style steering servo setup?
A1. Yes. The chassis supports this, but parts are not included.

Q2. Will the P12 Evo support prior Roche P12 front ends featuring a Xenon lower arm?
A2. Yes. Prior front ends will directly bolt on to the new P12 Evo chassis

Q3. What is the maximum size servo width that can be used on the P12 Evo?
A3. Maximum servo width is 33mm

Q4. Which servos fit into the P12 Evo?
A4. (not a complete answer -- working on building up a list)

Sanwa SGR-HR (must cut off the top/bottom additional case pieces)
Sanwa SRG-HS (must cut off the top/bottom additional case pieces)

With less rotating mass it will spool up quicker accelerate faster...slightly.

Right, that's the advantage. What I am asking is what is the trade-off of the lightweight axle, as in, what is the disadvantage? In other words, why run the standard axle at all?

the lighter weight items just came out later -- as further optimizations.

the 'standard' spool axle is longer and works in F1 / 200mm configurations

Not really. You're not always aware of what you don't know. That's why I pitched my question to others, so I'm not overlooking anything. Not being aware of the timeline, as was pointed out in the reply before yours, it appears that there are two simultaneous options, which would suggest pros and cons of each.

Anyone know of a US-based retailer that has the Zen Racing servo/shock mount in stock for the EVO1 in stock? Paying $31 in flat rate shipping from Zen direct isn't a palatable option for the few items I need.

We run the Reedy spec 13.5 motors, basically the same power as a ROAR 17.5, on a very small (55x32) and tight gray carpet track. I recently switched from the bell crank to the traditional setup and went slower despite dropping 36 grams from the car - about 16 from the switch to the traditional floating servo mount and 20 grams of ballast I didn't need as I was able to run my huge SMC ESC more towards the center of the chassis. The car also felt easier to drive with the bell crank. Given that info, if you still think the traditional setup is the better route to take, I'm open to suggestions on how to make it better.
