To be honest, I met a guy in Yatabe Arena few weeks ago, and he shows me a similar car with this conversion kit.
His car uses 40t/20t pulleys with bd7 2015 bulkheads added SMJ BBSS shock tower, instead using main parts of 2016, about belt I doubt is ta07, didn't remember about all details, sorry!
That's why i asked about single belt cars.
Unfortunately this kit could only find inside of Japan

I have the BD7 2015 and I didn't think the conversion belt is longer enough for 40t diff pulley

To answer the original question...

A single belt design is less efficient as the belt has to 'flex' in both directions.
If it was a better design, everyone would be using instead of having moved away from it.

It also means the belt has to run down the centre line of the car so the motor is moved further out, again that's a step backwards.

You are right, if single belt is really convenient then why mostly people keep use 2 belts?
But of course i am looking for if it has little advantage for blinky.

That's not right. If you put the spur on the far side, and the motor on the near side, you can put the motor further towards the center of the car. Amusingly, this is a choice that team associated went for, while retaining the dual belt setup, this year.

No, that just changes the position of the pinion on the motor shaft.
If the main belt is central, no matter what you do, the motor *must* be further out as the motor mount and belt position are the limiting factors.

This is only partiqlly true, most of single belt designs wrap more than half of center pulley, which increases contact area. Also, torque doesn't split 50/50, rear axle transmits more force during acceleration, front during deceleration

but if spur is between belt and motor, you have to move motor away from belt to make space for spur. With spur on other side, motor can be closer to belt.

I been checking out the yokomo conversion, may have to get it. Looks like a good design.
