Is the steering rack in Genesis a Gizmo product or is it the Awesomatix BSSX?

Ordered Genesis kit with awesomatix dif & Spool to run on asphalt this year. Will use GZ2 for the rest of carpet season.

Couple of questions.
Does anyone have a starting setup for asphalt?
Do you use the same shock towers for ulp shocks as stock shocks?

thanks Roy

CT posted this setup for asphalt Gizmo Racing USA Genesis TC Kit
For the ULP shocks, my understanding is that you would need different shock towers, CT can hook you up with that.

Hi Roy,

Good to hear you got your GZ2 on its way to getting dialed in. Ill dig up a setup I ran at Fresno that might be helpful for you. There is a different shock tower for the ULP shocks.See you at 209.

Carpet track closed so will be running my aluminum chassis Genesis on Asphalt now.
What do you guys think I will need in terms of option items (VTD, PCS link, etc.) to get the alum. car running on asphalt?

Honestly, pulling screws to help flex should be all you need in VTA.

Our Aluminum chassis is fairly stiff, but it does not mean you cannot make it work. I know Larry Myers likes his car with an alloy chassis and a VTD. Myself, I like carbon chassis with regular top deck. PCS brace is a nice tuning option that most guys like as it gives the car a bit better forward bite and rotation. If you run the VTD, there is no need for PCS.

Another thing we have been doing is playing around with bulkhead screws for Flex. Look up our Gizmo Racing USA Team Driver Private page and I will add you there. We have some pictures of what I am talking about it there.

Thank you, want to give the VTD a try.

The manual is almost done. Should be done pretty soon. At the moment we are using a combination of the GZ2 manual and an a800 manual to get it done as well as some pictures on our website.

We Just released a bunch of new option parts for the Genesis.

Long Arm and V2 Hub Conversion

V2 Spool Conversion

V2 Diff Conversion

2.15 Spring

2.35 Spring

2.55 Spring

ULP Front Tower

ULP Tower Rear

The Long Arms, contrary to typical long arms actually make the suspension softer due to the increase in length between the lower shock pivot and outer pivot. The tire is more supported, the scrub radius is decreased and the results are a smoother car with more stability, more steering and more corner speed. The long arms were used by Eric Albano and Mark Dawson to TQ and Win the 17.5 Rubber and 17.5 Foam Classes at the 209 Carpet Challenge this past weekend.

Even though the race was on gray low-medium bite carpet, we really do think these will provide good results in really high bite conditions as it will make the suspension act softer and will allow us to use a little more aggressive settings on our Genesis TCs.
