Interesting to see them go back to to having the spur in between the front and rear belt pulleys on the layshaft.

Looks good... back to a T4/419XR/IF14 style. With the shorter, lighter motors it makes sense to balance things out like this now I guess. I bet it drives well.

Was the bd8 that bad Yokomo had to go back to the bd7?

DaSilva3525 10-10-2018 01:05 PM

I don't agree with the BD8 being bad at all. I upgraded this season from my tried and true'd BD7 16 and the car was better everywhere. I feel the BD8 18 from the BD8 2017 is almost like a updated model with the small perks "40 tooth pulley system, as well as spacing the bulkheads 1.5mm higher to make up for the larger pullies..it was more of a band aid update then a redesign imo, center pitch rod added, bigger ball studs etc etc

So amped for Yokomo and the quality of this kit will be amazing when it comes out for sure. The BD9 Will combine the bigger 40tooth (which they had on the past BD7 using the traditional layout with all the latest plastics / hubs, ball studs, etc.. I feel anyway

Racer / Fanboy out lol..

I didn't say the bd8 was bad. Besides I've read your posts on the bd8 thread, the bd7'16 was ill-designed, no contest you would gain by going to another version.
