There is just that special something opening a new kit and building it yourself, I for one don't like inheriting others peoples problems ... no different then a used car, comes with the good & bad.
This is a two way street. I purchased a used like new TC7.1 with a ton of spares and bodies. I overhauled it to get things my way and to learn the car inside and out. I've been running it trouble free for several months. Awesome experience.

I bought a brand new VBC Ghost18 and it was/is a horrible experience. I tried to send it back to no avail. lol Yes, it's that bad!

So, IMO with some care and patience a quality used chassis can surely be had. A guy I race with bought the TC7.1 built by 1Up racings owner. It has ALL of the bells whistles and gizmos on it. The price was unbelievably reasonable. I recently bought a like new Sanwa MT-44 radio set for $200. The list goes on and on.

FWIW, I'd gladly still be racing my TC4 if it weren't for those damn glass steering racks! Not newbie friendly.

I have... I think.. four spare racks here. I only broke one, once. :-) I need to put up an ad for my TC4.

Now.. I did go through half a dozen hex drive pins.

The fact it hasn't come up, tells the whole story. If you go wtih it, you're going to be mostly on your own. It looks... like a fine choice, but you will be your own support system for it.

I thought about the Schumacher. Something about that motor mount and the non threaded shock bodies rubbed me the wrong way.
