Tire Truer for 1/12
I am not sure if this is the right place to post this thread. Hope it is.
Just wanted to get recommendations for a tire Truer for 1/12 pan car. Debating between Hudy and CRC. Is there a big difference other than price? Are there any others that you would recommend? Will be for personal use only. Any help is appreciated. |
Hudy. Used to make an inexpensive hand cranked truer. I liked it because you could control the speed of the cut. There hard to find these days. Integy makes one that's about the cost of the hudy.works great .

I have said Hudy and love it... got it for about $100 on RCTech.. CRC doesnt make one.. they do make a 1 size fits all arbir that I also use along with the Gravity RC adapters that keep the wheels from stretching out.....

Yep, friend and I share one of the manual Hudy truers. Not as nice as that one! Even older. But love it...like the feel of shaving foam for some reason. |

I have the 3Racing 2014 Version 3 truer (Also same as the Yokomo) with a CRC bit and it works very well for me. The switch for the automatic return did break on me once but I was able to find parts to replace it. I would still recommend it if price is a factor. I have owned the OFNA manual truer previously and although it works the 3Racing is much sturdier in design. Personally I think it's the arbor and cutting bit that matters the most, for whatever you get. |
Thanks for the inputs,
I was actually looking for the manual hand crank Hudy, but could not find one, Sold mine back early 2000's when my son stopped running 1/8 scales.. Now I'm back running 1/12 and possibly 1/8 and regretting why I sold it. Let me do more research on the CRC and decide. I could use the extra $$$$ I can save for parts and tires. |
I'd like to find a manual hudy if anyone has one they would sell :)

Seriously, though, why are truers so expensive? I opened the old school Hudy manual and it’s literally just a dc motor with an ac/dc. |
