The chaos phase

I started building. The Shapeways quality differs a lot. This time the small holes are nearly perfect and the large diameter are off by 0.5mm, but not constant, but elliptical... Luckily nothing that would reduce the part function. The front went together well up to now.

The leaf springs snuggle well into their place. The short carbon rod sits nice as well (below the tip of the spring). A good start

It seems like your preload screws are going to keep you on the soft side of spring rates. Easy enough to modify if you run into problems though.

That „setup“ is just for the assembly. It makes it easier that way to check the kinematics if the unit is not under load.

It is done. It is a rolling chassis now. Enjoy the KRv2.5:

The weight came down to KRv2 values:

VERY nice work !!!
I like the chassis stiffener/battery hold down idea and also the stay bars look trick !
Would multiple holes (like in a shock tower) be a better option for the rear steer toe link ?
Also what rear diff is that ?

Your builds could qualify as art work !

Thank you

Unfortunately I f***ed up the battery holder/chassis stiffener by a millimeter and had to cut it. So there is nearly no effect. I need to redesign it and then I could increase the thickness a lot.

Multiple holes would make it easier to get a symmetric setup.

That is the 3racing diff (3R-TT02-09). If shimmed correctly I found it better than the Tamiya version, as it does not leak. Not sure if Tamiya makes better diffs for the TT02 now.

Indeed a very nice build. A lot can be done with a TT-02.
How did you setup your active rear toe? More toe in when braking or more toe in when on throttle?

The KRv2.5 is rtr now. I took the electronics out of my TC7.2 (a beautiful chassis) and put them into the new car.
A big hobbyshop in Germany owed me a set of Yokomo B10 shocks for a little project I did for them. These arrived last week and look stunning on the KRv2!

I did some detail work on the v2.5. The droop plates didn’t fit right and bend as I attached them. Today I recognized and removed a little material on hidden places and now they sit flat on the chassis. Also I found 500cst oil too soft and changed to 1000cst. This feels and behaves more like a standard shock.

With both cars so clean and beautiful I pulled out the scale to see how heavy they are rtr without body:

They are pretty equal even with different servo and esc.
