I found some online pics of the old Ferrari race car that I remember so fondly. The model was a 333SP. IMO, that was and still is the best looking open cockpit racecar ever. The Ferrari team (and also a few privateer gentlemen racers) had great success with the 333SP at Daytona, LeMans, WatkinsGlen, etc. For a brief time, HotBodies made a 1/12th scale 333SP body shell. David had one first and I followed suit because his looked so very cool and yet it also appeared to handle just as well as the ugly and unrealistic looking shells that most guys were using at the time. Those 333SPs were simply fantastic. Sure would like to have a source for something like them again. I so miss running realistic looking bodies. Never been a fan of the “tribal” paint schemes that are the current vogue in RC racing. To my eye, the cars look so much better on track when they resemble actual race cars. Kudos to Dale for doing the Ford GT. Apparently plenty of other guys crave realism because the Ford GTs keep selling out. So now we just need something equally cool and realistic for 1/12th scale.

Just took out the GT this evening, and I’m officially a believer. I had a crazy busy week and so I wasn’t able to cut out the body until I got to the track tonight. I worked on getting it ready between rounds as I raced my P-Zero.
Finally after the mains I was able to take it out for about 20 laps. All I did was change bodies, and in the main just about 15 min prior my hot lap was a 10.8 (had a 10.7 in qualifying) and fought to be be sub 11’s consistently.
As as soon as laid my GT down I fell in love. I was immediately hitting 10.8’s and 10.7’s and hit a hot lap of 10.5 (the fastest lap of the day for USGT).
It was easy to drive but not lazy. I felt like it gave me more entry into the corner but not too aggressive. I LOVED it! I only had 20 laps on it, so did my best to try and feel the difference between the GT and P-Zero. I believe the GT will now be the go to body for USGT!
OH! And guess what, my race paint GT weighed less than my P-Zero!
Great job PF!
