Thanks LzR, that's exactly what I'm thinking. Anyone has them and knows what's the difference?

Think I'm just gonna buy via RaceVTA honestly. Appears to do paypal so it's secure there. I need the following answered:
  • What spur gears are compatible with this car?
  • What is the difference between the V3 and V2 ball cap/cup. The manual lists both but doesn't explain which comes with the car.
    • I think I figured this out. The V3 appears to be used at the rear hub for clearance.
  • Where does one get the 5.8mm ball cap/cup that is 10.2mm long for the shocks? Are people just cutting down the longer ones if they break one?
Thanks!

Wayne

Yeah the damper rod ends are in SAK-U314A. The plastic spring retainers on that moulding can actually be used and are lighter than the alu ones, but require different pre-tensioning.

As for spur gears, 3 racing ones fit the best. Xray and other hex-pattern only spurs will not fit. I have an old Kimbrough spur which has the right hole pattern but holes aren't quite big enough. RW racing spurs look like they will fit.

If I want to run a front diff, do I just need to buy another diff and 4mm universal shaft cushions?

Yes, but....
When I tried this the other day, I snapped one of the driveshaft blades trying to put it on as they're very brittle. Get the orange x-ray blades instead.

when I get the kit I’m guessing I need to heat those up a bit before I put them on!

I remember the kit ones going on without much trouble, the additional ones I bought as spares which broke were "SAK-U122D_V2" and felt like a different compound plastic.

I have used all the versions without issues, guess if you bend it far enough any plastic part can break.

You can try the following method to mount the blade

Thanks for the info, that is pretty much the same method I used. Maybe I just got a bad batch?

Carpet racing tonight;
Car was not far off the pace even on shredded sorex 28s. However, it was occasionally (but not always!) very loose. Hoping this was just down to the state of the tires, though the springs aren't quite right (still running on kit standard). I'll need to get some properly matched ones.
Wonder if wider rear hexes would help the stability?

Man, widening the rear end when you're loose isn't a good idea generally. At least not in my experience.

Woot. First night in 25.5 tc with this car and i was able to be on the same pace as everyone else. Actually won the main, but it was a reverse order start and i didnt qualify great, but i almost lapped 2nd in the main so safe to say i figured the car out. Really just kinda used the asphalt setup but with -2 camber, 425 front and 350 rear. Sidewalls were glued to 58.5 on black carpet.

My only complaint is some of the screws have sloppy hex heads and the front swaybar endlink set screws stripped. Mine held, but i gotta order fresh ones—not strong like associated endlinks—you cant tighten at all!

Other than that, car is primo!

Grief, I literally just saw that on hit tonight ripped a screw straight through the chassis. I dont know what to say. Won the main like that. Kinda bummed about that for sure!
