Thanks for the speedy reply. I am coming up with some slightly different numbers. I have the 42102 at 55mm(per Tamiya, it was the only one they said they knew) with the 42273 4mm shorter for 51mm and the SSBB 42305 6.5mm shorter for 48.5. The shorter numbers came off the back of the package for the 42102's. This doesn't make it correct but it does add more confusion.

A couple more things; could you give me a link to the information mentioned? Where do the SSBB TRF 42305's compare with the Associated 7.1 Fox shocks? Shocks are still a bit of a "black art" to me and I don't want to waste racing budget on unusable kibble and bits for the shelves. lord knows we all have enough of that.

Ah, those numbers come from measuring from the center of each ball connector. I'm measuring (and I'm also assuming kentech and TheRCRacer are) from end to end including the plastics. The diameter of the Tamiya shock plastics is 7mm so if you add that you get 62. Here's the kentech link I remember off the top of my head: kentech dot wordpress dot com/2014/01/21/trf-short-damper-17616185/ (can't post links yet). I'm even less familiar with the Associated stuff, but looking at the images they look extremely similar to the TRF SSBBs. I think most dampers that use 20mm springs are around 49-50mm from the center of the top and bottom connectors.

Thanks again. More info for the old cheat sheet. I think for the time being I will hold off on anything from Tamiya except the SSBB units.

Now if I can get some information on the X-Ray SLP and ULP units everything will be great.

I have almost those same shims but the ones I got are slotted so you can just loosen the plate and slide them in. Each pack has four 1mm and four.5mm

Google '2019 Xray T4 set up sheet', or go to Petit Rc.com and look up Xray T4 there, you can also go to Xray's website and get a manual downloaded

Did you go to any of the locals at the track and ask them?????? I know a few that will give you exactly what they are running.

What is the purpose of the 1mm top deck shims? I don't really see any advantage for this. I tried this many years back but never saw any advantage. Other than a few years back I was using metal shims and it drove me crazy trying to get them all to align
