I've been messing around with some corner weight scales on the Scythe - you can read all of my ramblings here - http://www.rctech.net/forum/showpost...4&postcount=34

What I did find (confirm really), is that the 6-cell Scythe has near perfect 50/50 front/rear weight distribution, and that the battery side is less than 30g heavier. So the car is very well balanced.

This 50/50 weight distribution must be one of the reasons the car generates so much steering.

Victor

Do you know off hand if there will be a 2008 U.S. Edition with the 3.5mm chassis?

Thanks
Steve

No I'm not sure, but TOP will release a US Edition carpet conversion kit. This conversionkit will have:

2.75mm carbon fiber carpet bottom deck with milled motor mount
2.25mm carbon fiber carpet top deck
2 sets of red alloy lower bulkhead left/right parts
2 sets of new design red alloy single sided upper bulkhead parts
4 red alloy top deck support posts
4 suspension pins for use with bottom deck

Greetings Victor

Who carries parts for this car in the US. I know this has been an issue in the past but I was wondering if the situation has improved any lately.

Thanks,
Steve

From memory, the HPI springs are significantly longer than the TOP springs. I use AE springs and found I had trouble getting below 5.5mm ride height. The Rayspeed lowered spring cups( Part# RS-15) will do the trick though. I believe someone also posted in here that the HPI ones will work.

That's not really possible with the Yokomo ball cups due to their square design. Maybe another brand ball cup would do the job though.

With The Standard Shock Towers, you can use HPI Springs very well ... Ride Heights lower than 5mm ...

If you use the Low Profile Shock Towers (With 6 Holes in Front and 8 in the Rear), you have to use the HPI Ball Cups & Retainer, this works well, too.

The Low Profile Towers are 2mm lower ...
