Patrick/Ali,

I think the 2.5mm chassis, thicker topdeck and shocktowers will weight more than the 2.0mm Goldversion. For the looks i say, use the alloy. If you want to loose weight than make it a "black plastic edition".

I will perform the coming week my shakedown of the Red Edition.

greetz,

Eric

@ Ali,

What is your opinion about the spool (you drive modified?), i like to put it in (it also weights less ) but i'm not sure if it works with 19T indoor.

@ Patrick, I'm not sure how my car was quite so light!
I ran:
Futaba 9550 servo (very small)
KO 301F receiver
KO vfs-1 speedo
Checkpoint based modified
Team Almighty 5 cell packs (4200)
I only ran a stabilizer on the front so that would help with the weight. I also used carbon fibre suspension arms, 2mm std chassis and titanium screws on the top of the car. To lose more weight, I would try the Hybrid front bumper (much smaller than standard).
With the heaviest shell I own (PF mazdaspeed 6), the car weighed just under 1400g, and with a lightweight type shell, this is dramatically reduced. I also had a very heavy steel spool in the car, so a lighter version would help. I think the areas of the car that could be lightened would be the use of Ti screws (easy change), the use of titanium driveshafts, and maybe using some plastic parts.

@ Eric, the car works great with a spool, especially in modified, and I feel it is pretty good in 19t, especially if the track is small and tight. On a more flowing track, I'd recomend sticking with the one-way.

The carbon fibre arms are HPI items (as are the standard ones)
The titanium screws are from Take Off
The small front bumper is from Hybrid
And the steel spool is from Speedtech.

@ Ali,

How are your CVD's handling with Mod-motors? The Universal Pins seem a little fragile, we destroyed three already....

Eric

Hi guy's,

Im a little lost and hoping someone can help me out.

On the Top Racing Scythe Set Up sheets, there is a setting on the Rear Suspension section for an "UPRIGHT SPACER". What is this and where do I find it on the car. Also what does changing it do?

It's probably very obvious but in the info and build guide there is nothing there that mentions it and I can't seem to find any parts listed for changing this setting.

Cheers
Aaron

Hi Jimmy are you all pumped about running at the TITC. It will be a ton of fun, there are half a dozen of us coming over. Last year was a ball with more mates around it can only get better.

They tend to come loose if you don't check them after every few runs, when running in the modified class I tend to check them as often as possible (every 1-2 runs). This problem may be magnified outdoors in the mod class, as this is where the std Yokomo versions (basically the same as the Scythe's) were very very bad.
