Default Will my PT be ok?

Just wondering.....

I see alot of people post pics of their rc cars and have their personal transponder hanging off a piece of lexan/carbonfibre attached to the servo. I am wondering if anyone has ever had their PT damaged or broken from having it there, as I plan to put mine there.

Thanks

It can only break if you hit it. I mount mine on top of the servo, as the difference in CoG doesn't matter for me.

I have mine hanging off the tamiya transponder mount that is attached to my servo. I even have the PT attached using the ultra heavy duty velcro stuff and I've never had it come loose or break, just pop it off and onto the other car when I need.

I mount mine off the servo with lexan and it is fine . I have hit stuff but it doesn't come off . Just use good servo tape.

worst case Scenario, you hit something hard enough to rip off your suspension arm and every thing attached to it including the transponder which is located directly behind the left or right suspension arm.

You might rip it off and have the wires pulled out, or it could yank your reciever out also.

I saw it happen once. It had a trail of electronics dragging behind it, kind of like it's guts were hanging out. but nothing actually broke other than the car.

So, I think you might be ok, it's just an extreme case that would cause that kind of damage!

I don't think it takes much to get Soviet ranting. I do enjoy reading his rants though.
