Owners of the previous model said that it could only use 3racing wheels. The tires are from Ride if understanding right. I ordered a second set just in case. I don’t have any Sweep F1 but I’ll try what I have when I get to putting wheels on.

I've never had a 3Racing kit.. how do the plastics feel in hand? I ask because when I built my ZX5 and RB6 I noticed the plastics felt different/better compared to say... A lower end Tamiya kit, or when handling a set of arms for a Traxxas product. The cheaper Tamiya and Traxxas parts didn't feel as good as the Kyosho parts. Does that make sense?

This is my 3rd kit from them. 4th vehicle. I was working on their FWD m chassis before starting on the FGX. Just waiting for a part to finish that kit. Plus already plan to buy their M4 sport chassis soon as it’s average. The pro version came out first.

All their stuff feels consistent. Plastic feel fine. Not flexible like a Tamiya or Traxxas. HPI has one of the softest plastic on their RS4 Sport3. Could twist the front arms. I’ve never had complaints with the Traxxas plastic. Especially the newer 4Tec.

3racing does have bit unusual gear setups. This reminds me of their FWD as it was going together. Never had problems with the exposed gear teeth. And I spend most time on unprepared parking lots. So debris getting into them is just part of driving. Others may not like that.

Thanks Billy. I'm going to get one of these regardless. The newer 4Tec seems like a departure for Traxxas as far as how thea parts feel in hand. I've just finished another F104 for a buddy of mine, the build is getting a bit stale... Lol. Time for something different.

Slow, small progress this morning. Front arm stiffners and cut open the ball cups. Don’t like don’t that. It’s vague as to how much to cut open. And if make mistake, can’t run to local store to get a replacement. Haven’t seen any parts listed in the States yet.

Is the chassis plastic, FRP, or alloy? Interesting design regardless. Looks like it may actually be able to take some abuse.

I would say plastic. Don’t know what FRP is. It’s definitely heavier then my regular F1. I would not want my F6 to take a full speed, direct hit from it. I’d think the FGX would go right through my F6.

Hi guys! Following your build closely Billy Kelly... I have had my eye on the FGX EVO for quite a while. Mine hasn't arrived just yet but I am making sure I have all the things in place for when it does...

With that said, could I ask you a question regarding the wheels please Billy Kelly? I am not a F1 guy, this is my first F1 chassis - so when I read online that it doesn't take 'standard' F1 wheels this goes straight over my head...

Are the wheels 12mm hex just like 1/10 Touring wheels? I have a feeling they are by haven't managed to find accurate information, its always written from the perspective of F1 racers that they 'arent standard' so...

Really enjoying watching the build, thanks!

On the left are the FGX wheels. On right are a set from my F6 from Gravity. This is what they mean. As non standard F1 wheels.
