Default Can-Am RC Series

Can-Am RC Series is an effort driven by racers, for racers to create a fair and cost effective handout motor rule set. This initiative is brand new (May 1 2018 launch) and we are seeking-

1. Events to cooperate/support the rules in the 2018/2019 season
2. Motor Manufacturers to provide motors for our initial set of On-Road claases.

You might as well add USVTA (Can-Am Vta ) to that list ,

The classes that have motors specified for them will be based upon--

1. Major event demand
2. Motor manufacturer supply

Good look! we’ll watch with interest and maybe start ghosting your methods to try out
at the local club to see how it’s recieved.

Instead of ghosting I'd really recommend asking your local track to commit to these standards to help build power in numbers

I dont think a "wind " is important....Its the speed ,price ,reliability , and size of the track that matters
...
Some tracks will choose a 10.5 some will choose a 17.5 all depending on size of the track .
We at apex have chosen to go to low timed (30°) 13.5 with a 5.5fdr to get same performance feel as a wild 17.5 ... Just ran our first event with them this past weekend and they were a hit !
360v2. Has been using a 10.5 with a fixed timing as well with great results as well . really brings the racers together for closer racing cheaper than normal "spec" racing . 1/12 scale I'm pretty sure will have a minimum fdr but open otherwise ...

You score a point for acknowledging that soldering isn’t a common skill for “newer” racers.

Just man up and run 13.5!

The faster the motor, the more emphasis is put on setup and driving, and less on the motor. This is why you don't see this issue in nitro racing.

im running mod this coming season (and handout if offered) it definately makes you setup and drive the car better thats for sure . but thats not going to be the "fix " for tc racing.....

You're a good man. But there is no single thing that will fix TC, or RC racing or even full scale racing. There are too many things that need improvement. Handout motors is a big step in the right direction.

You wanna fix touring car? Limit the cost of kits to $300 Hanulec probably just choked.
