We had 8 or 9(Can-Am Gt) this last Sunday away N-control rc in central texas.

Very good racing. We even had racers swap motors after each heat if anyone appeared to be faster then the others. The fat guys still stayed fast. Two thumbs up on this class from central texas.

All the USIC guys are still sleeping ...
I'm exhausted
But i will say i ran USVTA & canam stock tc ...
Great chose of classes for me
Strait away speeds were very simular but lap times were 1sec different (11.7tc/12.8vta)
Always felt in the hunt with speed it just came down to a clean run and effecient setup with proper brake adjustments.
Loved it ... Just shouod have been rental

I agree that big races should be rental but I also understand why that is tough. Just think about trying to handle making sure they all came back at the end of the event. Smaller races like the Halloween Classic had you turn them in every day and at the end. But that was a hassle for the event team even on that small scale. Maybe they can figure out a deposit system.
I ran at the USIC and loved the fact that WGT-R and F1 were handout fixed gearing. I have local tracks that will let me use the motors though.

Yea a deposit system would have been perfect .turn yours in and instantly swap for your next motor ... But if you do that do it every round .

Sign your name record serial #s
Hand off motor
Get new motor
Record serial #
Go race . takes 2min to do that .

Does anyone know where I can buy the CamAm motor for USGT? I want to put it in my practice car so I don't have to return the motor everytime I leave the track. 360V2 is where I race and they won't sell it.

Hi John, my suggestion would be to just pop it in and out when you come at the track. I see a few reasons for this. The first one is that it will not always be easy to replicate exactly the same feel of one car to a another car. To achieve this takes time and experience; so there would be more benefit from practicing with your actual race car with a CanAm motor in it. This will make it much easier for you to improve your car and driving gradually. Another reason is that the spirit of CanAm remains Handout. Owning your CanAm goes a little against the CanAm spirit. I heard some tracks do let the drivers own their motors but I also hear those same tracks frequently exchange motors between drivers to keep it even, in the doubt a motor would happen to be faster than the others.

Hope this helps.

Joe – thanks for the advice. I just find it to be a PITA to swap out the motor every time. But I totally understand the reasoning for doing this. It’s a shame that there will always be a cheater amongst us and tracks have to go the extra mile just keeping everyone in check.

May have to go back through pages, but there was a post for buying one of the motors. Even if was just to use for practice. I remember asking more out of curiosity as non of the track in my area are running it.

I sent an e-mail to Scorpion, the manufacturer of the Can Am GT motor, a couple of days ago. I haven't heard back. Has anyone else successfully reached them?
