For you guys wanting to get a feel of something like this ... Pull out a old 13.5 of some sort and get you a motorlizer ahold of it . set it to 30° timing
Install it and gear between 5-6 fdr (look for 120deg @6-8 min in a tc ) should feel very simular to a maxed out 17.5 but with 0 fade thruout tue run (unless your cooking your tires ) . the entire idea is to get same performance in all cars without stressing the motor which means the motors are rentable making them extremely cheap for us to use or own ... No motor of the month , no chasing timing and gearing .... No long lines thru motor tech ....
As said this isnt a fix all but will atleast be a start in the right direction .

So, you're saying my support for you idea is a bad thing?

Lots of things are keeping me away from RC racing, none of which are related to RC itself. Believe me, I want to race at 360, just can't do it.

Jim, We have the same issues with 13.5 as with 17.5 motors; maybe slightly less and only due to an error in the spec'd resistance numbers. If we "fix" 17.5 (with can-am) the "war" moves to the next highest class,13.5.

If you want to "man up"....13.5 isn't going to get it done

I don't think we need to have both 17.5 and 13.5 anyway. The Can-Am "solution" (at 360v2 anyway) is fast enough for a spec class so you don't really need another one.

"Spec" and Mod. Done.

I meant the 13.5 Can Am solution.

currently we have a batch of motiv 13.5 paul sent us that are locked @ 30deg with all matched internals .
we are running them @ 5.5 fdr.
this combo is giving us better infield times and slower strait line speeds but are almost identical lap times to a full out roar illegal(lol) 17.5.

Personally id like to see this catch on and just have 1 "stock" class, then anyone wanting to run 2 classes of 12th would have to run modified also. It would be great to see a F or G mod main at Cleveland again.

For f1 I would like to try a 21.5 locked timing like the ETS runs. Basically would be like a hot 25.5.

only other thing is suggest is a voltage cop on everyone's cars that is easy to see. Jamie tennies from trackside hobbies has implemented these is dirt oval racing. Allows the racers to police each other and keeps everyone at or below 8.44. I guess their cheap and easy to install.

as an FYI - we've been having some VERY lively and yet mature conversations on FB for the https://www.facebook.com/canamrcseries/
it is worth wild to take a look even if your not on Book Face. you might want to consider making a Book Face account using a crazy nickname, like some of the contributors have done.

current hot topic is around "should we offer a Can-Am RC VintageTransAm Class? right now the 'yes vote' is 2/3 and the 'no vote' is 1/3
