good weekend for the avid v2 . had a 2 day event at a local parking lot track and ended up TQing and taking the overall win in the a-main and the car felt awesome. corally man ( Steve) finished 2nd at the event in the same class it was a really good weekend for steve in prep for the nats next week and we both have completely different set-ups and both worked very well and steve tried something a little new on his car which i will be going to as well but i will let him explain it when he gets on here.

summary: good weekend

i currently use the kimbrough large servo saver but you have to file the topdeck a little for clearance so the steering link doesnt hit.and i think others are using a kimbrough medium sized servo saver.

in addition to your setup i took the dremil to the topdeck and the front cross member is gone and half of the rear is gone as well to get a bit more flex.

are you using the 2mm topdeck or the 2.5mm topdeck for this? i just ran the car with the 2mm topdeck and was thinking of doing this same thing you just did to it as well.

so the changes i made this last weekend to my most recent set-up on petitrc is the following:

front:
5.5mm ride hieght
3mm droop
0 angle driveshafts
hpi pink springs
used 1.5mm rollcenter shim under the 2.0 arm block on front end to give 1.5 degrees of anti-dive

rear:
2mm droop
5.5mm ride hieght
hpi blue springs
40wt oil ae
shock position #4 on tower(4th hole from inside)

this setup also used the 2mm topdeck and only had a total of 8 screws in it 4 front ones and 2 in front of layshaft and 2 at the very back.

just out of curiousity has anyone tried to run a gear diff in there car and found one to fit? i am waiting for the hotbodies tcx spec r diff to be released as it has the same pulley count as the avid v2 and i have a feeling it will work but i thought i would ask others if they have found another one to work.

i was using the standard top deck. 1 screws at the very front and 1 in the middle at the back . All of the front stay dremiled out and the back half at the back.
Front Shocks /Rear Shocks
Robitronic Grey springs/Blue
35 Associated oil (no rebound)
Position
A-Arm 2 /2
Shock Stay 1/1
Upper suspension arm
Front inboard washer 0 Position 1
Rear inboard washer 2mm position 1
Rear hub H 2mm washer
steering inner plate 3 knuckle 2 washer 2mm
no sway bars
spool
Tyre Much more 36V pre assembled
as for the droop/ride hight and pre load the mate done all that as i was busy with paper work.

As for the gear diff Xray ,xray ball diff will not fit and i am sure the s400 is to wide as well.
Steven

it seemed to handle the direction changes quite good , although i had the steering turned down to about 50% which was enough for the track.
A lot of tyre wear on the right hand front and next to nothing on the left hand rear, the left front and right rear are about the same.
