I saw a lot of you don't use the sway bar, what is your feeling with this setup adjustement?
Jeff Jenkins and I (Steve Curry) have both taken off our sway bars for the time being. Both cars are working well, his a little better than mine. We have good traction in the groove at our track but if you get outside of it then its low traction. We also have a smaller, technical track than what you might have for your Championships. I feel we are getting a little more chassis roll because of this but its allowing us to stay in the groove easier. I also think most of the top competition at our club are running without sway bars currently.

Anyone tried the 2mm top deck? no one has them in stock and I am wondering if it helps allot. I havent driven the car yet but it does seem stiff like a foam setup.

Hi,
i have test it and if you drive in low traction tracks it help a lot.
Also consider that this car need very soft spring, otherwise the car is very jumpy.

Not sure, I have had the car for about three weeks and the only thing I have damaged was because of user error. The plastic parts are very well priced so get some spares in that area, i.e. c hubs, arms, extra ball ends. Be carefull with the brass balls when tightening them, and use some threadlock when building the car and you should be good.

As for me, since I have it, i only use the 2mm top deck with only 6 screws! This is the way the car works better for me using rubber tyres!

About the parts, I had not real problem since the beginning except with the shocks that i really dont like. Problem I had with them i that the collar doesnt fit very well on the body shock and it was almost impossible for to adjust it as i want.
i have run tamiya shocks on my car this weekend and the cars was definitely better

Did you run your car with or without sway bars? How did it go?

Hi, I stayed with the sway bar (1.4mm front and 1.2mm rear).

Car was working perfectly, very stable with lot of steering. It was quite close to the car kit setup.
I just change the flex as I described before, tamiya shocks with 3 holes pistons, much More 400 oil and HPI silver spring.
for the rear camber link I use the higher inside hole on the shock tower.

Also, other change I made is using yokomo ball stud every where on the car. It doesnt change the balance of the car but it looks better this way i think

About the bodyshell, I run the Protoform L-TCR that good steering!

I will rebuild my car tomorow before going to next ETS round in germany! I will post you a pic of it.

Petitrc.com has some setups listed for the Avid V2 and other cars. Just wait for the page to load fully, then look at the right side of the main logo at the top.
