Yep,

I don't think the next version will be a specific carpet chassis as it still comes with a 2.5mm thick main lower chassis and 2mm upper deck. It's quite thin for carpet use only.

That's correct, the chassis doesn't have a symetrical flex from the start which can create strange reactions sometimes. And after a very slight crash only (a bit tough on an apex) then the chassis gets tweak and the car want to push on a side when on-power. Really boring...

For asphalt racing (it's also valid for any surface actually), if you set the car right on the setting blocks and tighten (approaching first) all the upper deck screws with the right symetrical pattern (then final tight but not overtight), things should be just fine.
Between two runs, don't hesitate to untighten a bit the upper deck screws with the car back on the setting blocks. It will release the inner chassis stress. Then tighten the screws again with always the same pattern.
This method is valid for any car so don't worry too much about the new version. It will work good, i'm convinced.

I guess this Flex default should be reduced on the new version. I heard that the prototype cars were working pretty well on both carpet and asphalt. Let's wait and see !

Cheers

Robitronic released the black ones, same part number.
At that time (at least, it was like this in France), Robitronic replaced them free of charge. Check out with your usual dealer.

The red anodisation will be kept for the Avid'09. Release date would arrived in the very middle of the year. Patience, it will not be long ;-)

Well the weekend has passed once again and finally gave the Avid a
good shake down, a bit disappointed in some of the car due to the softness of some of the parts BUT that aside finally got to a setup that was quite good for the weekend the car was hooked in the finals but the driver wasn't yes thats right i am only an average driver but lover this car, it has a heap of potential.
Using SMC 4000 and SMC 5200 (fits perfect) just had to use tape instead of the battery strap.
I did bend 1 of the hard dogbones but it was a high speed incident.
Has anyone used Jaco Rubberz ???? i found them quite good.
Run 35w oil and Blue springs all round great turn in and stability.
