Default CE will release upgrade!

I don't know if any of you already knew this, but for those who didn't:

Jim Bailey of CE:

Hi Josh,
We will have a program update in a few months to charge and discharge 1 to 3
Lipo cells. Units in the field will be upgradable. If you purchase one and
it is less than 90 days old, we will update it free. If over 90 days, there
would be a reasonable fee.
Regards, Jim Bailey

Now I feel like it is worth the postage fees for the trip to CE from Greece and back.

Thanks people!

One of the many reasons I'm glad I live litterally 20 minutes away from CE

I asked Jim abuot that very topic...

his response was that CE has, and continues to investigate individual cell charging each time there is a reasonable change to the cells...

To date they haven't found an advantage that was large enough to justify the added cost and complexity of going with that method...this could change in the future though..

They only have limited resources for development, and the software and displays can only do so much....

Considering what a used GFX is selling for right now, compared to prior models...you may want to consider the difference as part of the cost to upgrade....

I'm not sure why so many people are so sold on an idea that is unproven and to this point not even possible.
I'm not saying it won't be great but Is it going to be so revolutionary that we all toss our current chargers? I personally doubt it.

It is possible. Look at the Spintec ICC. I like the idea of single cell charge/discharge not only because of the benefits from putting the most juice into each cell (and yes I think this makes a difference) but it allows me to see which are my best performing cells out of a pack. I group my packs into Main, Qualifier, or Practice packs. Knowing individual cell data will allow me to re-match older packs without having to by a Turbo Matcher.
