standard per event with same timing

Does a specific wind matter or a unspecified motor labeled as "stock"? (similar to 360v2.
no, just for that class

I will try not to comment, I want to hear other opinions

3) YES, but some of the original questions have been brushed aside.

I think a handout/control/spec motor at BIG RACES is the proverbial writing on he wall, and the manufactures who complain about it are the ones to blame.

The real questions is method used a sealed motor possible luck of the draw similar to the old brushed days, or a tested, adjusted, then sealed motor. with cost and future usability being the side-affect

Heading in a different direction, what about handout tires in VTA? When you come to tech to get your voltage and weight checked, you get a set of tires to mount for that heat. When you finish your heat and go to marshal, a tech person takes the handout tires off of your car. You can't touch them aside from mounting them to your car. Want a 25.5 with an 84mohm resistance? Have fun. A set of premounts that you take home to do with what you want seems cheaper and less protestable than motors. Just an idea.

That is simple. Rules say no adjustment or the user of the motor must converse with the owner prior to changing anything. A few dabs of thick water based paint on the screws and go for it. This idea isn't a cure but a vaccination to make the illness a little milder until the Asian "swine" flu can be cured. Something workable until the anti purchase boycott takes a toll. The only ones hurt by this type of action are the willy wannabe's. The racers will dig in and deal with it.

I like the tire idea as well.

in the "old days"...why yall quit using handout motors?.....and why are guys/racers seeing all of this and still continue to buy motors at $150?.... and why is RD at motor companies still looking for the better mouse trap?.... why is entry count still up and growing at events that still charge $100 an entry?....WHY?

Im only asking cause I honestly dont see the issue. I could see an issue if say the USIC had 70 17.5 TC cars last year, and turn out 20 this year?....that gets my attention. But thats not the case....entry count went up in 2017 compared to 2016...and not just there,as well as other events too....maybe its just me?....

but Im all in no matter what is done...I refuse to go back to trains and slots

Like every other 'equalization' process that has been tried in racing for eons, it always sounds good in principle. Then gets slaughtered by the devil in the details.

Just spec a motor that is just SLIGHTLY too much motor for the chassis/tire combo and have at it. Problem goes away.

In full scale racing, I used to see guys spend $10-15K on a 60hp, 1600cc VW aircooled motor built to very tight specs. There, 1 or 2 hp was a big deal and made the difference. Formula Vee ends up being a very expensive class to run at the top levels.

Or you could spend that motor on a 358 cu in small block V8 and put it in a chassis with narrow slicks. All of a sudden, there's no need for that extra 1 or 2 or 25 hp. Can't use it.

Which class do you think is cheaper to run?

How do you police the overgearing concern? How do you stop people from detuning their motors and saying no when someone asks to adjust it? Too many loopholes.

Super Stock should have always been BOOSTED. I had to take a few minutes once to show a younger guy what boost was, he didn't realize it was as significant as it is in increasing your top end power.

Maybe I'm biased because my boosted setup was brutal fast. But I still have it in my box, ready to roll in anger again.

How about this: 17.5 Stock, 17.5 BOOSTED Super Stock, Open Mod.

Re-programming my ESC didn't cost $150, that is for sure.
