I don't understand the resurgence of the o-ring battery holder but other than that it's nice to see further development in the F1 class.

The new VBC FX 18 doesn't need any rubber. It's got two little stops on top with front and rear adjustable stops along with an upper tray that all holds the battery in place.

Not trying to be a dick or a troll, but I'm not sure what is different on it. From the pics it looks to have a kingpin front suspension (and the CF arms look almost exactly like the F6) and a link rear pod with center shock damper.... it does look to be a nice car, though.

Hope to see more pics of it, up close.

Plus the monocoque design is not new: D-Drive Japan made it first for the Tamiya F103: D-Drive Sports: Monocoque Chassis Pictures

D-Drive Sports

Too bad current rules are so restrictive, F1 should get innovation, like the real thing (except for Halo...)

Cheers,

Maybe first this century, about 15 years after HPI made theirs for the F103 out of actual carbon fiber.

All Infinity cars are based on designs of several other cars. The first 1/8 is based on the Mugen MRX5 and the new 2018 model does show the same changes as the MRX6. I know the 1/10 gas car is started with just parts from several other brand cars.

I agree with you, the monocoque plastic thingy seems to play zero structural or practical purpose from what I can see. Seems entirely useless.

All manufacturers pinch designs off each other. I don’t think it’s a quincedence that most of the current 2WD buggy crop looks very similar. Same as TC. Other then Awesomatix and Sepent they are all very similar.
