This is my son’s car and he is the mechanic and since he parking lot races and drifts he never complains on its performance.

So I was bored and took a look at it and the first thing I noticed was the front belt seemed too loose to me

It was on 8 so I took it too 16. Still way loose to me so I flipped cams and I’m at 24....the belt feels better but not tout cause I didn’t want it to snap on him.

He is running a Tekin 5.5 geared 80/34 zero timing

I thought about getting him a reflex belt tensioner is it worth it?


On his shocks the silver springs seem stiff but he drifts so I’m not sure if
I should mess with them.. I have a whole drawer of yeah racing springs from 55mm to 60mm shocks I have on my other tc cars.

I think I got green golds and old stock blues.

Also I found out quick how fast those suspension inserts strip too so had to order
New arms to replace what I messed up

The Front belt may be streched a bit , I would try new one . If its the original belt and the car had a steady use of a 5.5 motor . I think you are doing ok.

I find that if you drift with a chassis, the parts dont break as much as when you race but the can certainly wear parts out quick

Yup all original and so far tires has been the money pit on it but so worth it watching him
