What Fat500 doesn't say is how i dominated them with the F6, now with the trf103 im gonna show him how it looks to be dominated again, with his own tamiya brand.
i think he's nervous lmao

Hi guys,

sorry for not leaving any comments in the last weeks. ETS Rd.2 is over and I finished P7 with the TRF103.
What can I say? To be honest I am super dissappointed with this result, but to be honest i don't really know what happened.
First I was way to slow and my car was pushing like hell (used Xray geardiff with exotek 1862 to get the rear axle centered).
I suspected the rear width to be reaoson for that so i changed back to the ball diff.
Afterwards my car was on pace and had steering, but was super hard to drive.

My laptimes were pretty good and on point compared to the top guys ehrbar/ratheisky/stiebler/bultynck but i just couldn't drive 5min clear as I has issues with ttraction rolling and undriveable characteristics on brake.

Finished qualys on P10 - so A main at least. Did some more changes to get a easy to drive car for the mains (saucing tires only in the rear - 6° caster).
that worked out pretty well, but i got caught up in first corner in 2/3 mains. so that basically ended my way to the front early in the race.
A3 showed that the car was finally pretty good as i could pass many guys and even catch up on P3 but fucked it up ^^

Overall I am sure that with more experience in formula i could have finsihed betetr, but sometimes thats just how it is.
What I want to tell you:
I used some prototype parts I designed by myself (battery mount with o-ring / new topdeck / center stiffener) and they worked pretty awesome.
I will post some pictures on my facebook site and in this post in the next days/weeks.
My setup can be found on petitrc within this week.

Fell free to ask me if you have some questions

Best regards
Simon

PS: Watch the A mains on youtube (red rc channel) - especially stock was pretty awesome!
Car was still hard to drive but way better

Is anyone using the spool (solid axle) in Europe?

Hi,

I dont think so.
I wanted to test it but i think the grip would need to get even higher for that.

Do you recommend it?

Only very high grip. From what I hear, ETS carpet is lower grip than CRC black carpet.

Interesting. As Dan said, the CRC black carpet used here is very high grip. Traction rolls can be a big problem. The spool is very common.

If you like the ball diff, a lot of guys here used a ball diff in combination with Traxxas slipper pegs. If you use a spur gear with an inner and outer row of holes, the inner row can house slipper pegs to slow diff action without locking. It was popular before gear diffs became common.

Yes, 2 arms and the ball set listed will do it! Also use longer ball cups on the damper. Tamiyas will work. And add steering stoppers like shown in the pictures to protect the dampers from hard impacts.

Yes, the 102 should be just like the F104 (needs the F104 servo mount adaptor).
