buy him whatever kind of "luxury" kit, these kits are build for racing and they can take some abuse, just like any other kit out there. And as long as he has fun with it he will keep joining you on race weekends. Explain him a bit about setups and what does what from your own experience, and then he can educate himself. Improve his skills and in the not so far future he will BEAT you

Someday it will happen to all of us when we will be taking our son's or daughters to the track... count on it...

I say get your son a FK04, T1R, or a FK 05 since everyone wants the T2 they all sell for a decent price. Start small and work your way up. If he gets alot better within the next year or two, look into whatevers best around then (The xray t3 or somthing crazy)

I think its awsome your getting your son into RC as well.
