I know what you mean. My son and I race and sometimes we race against each other. Working on two or more cars is not fun. He is at a point where he does most of the work on his car, until he breaks something.

Default which car

If you are looking for a car and price is not really a issue think about this. You be better to buy an Xray. It is the only car where you can buy the kit and go out and run it and be competitive out of the box. The car is built well and is made of the best materials. You go out and buy a Losi or Assoicated you need to carry many parts and you breath on these cars they will break. I have given my own Xray t2 to rookies to let them race is it on a parking lot track it has not been broken yet. If you cant get a Xray get a Corrally. Everthing else is far from the technology of the Xray and Corrally.

Have you thought about the new Schumacher Mi2 EC,Very good car,A lot of local help within the state. The Schumacher is a good build with all parts fitting,They do have new shocks..so that's no longer a problem.. It's an excellent pavement car also.

It still seems a better car . I don't see externally adjustable diffs and shocks on the msx, do you?

710baby- what you are doing for your son is a great thing! my dad did that for me when i was 5 years old with a off road car. he built it up for me and everything and gave it to me for my bday and i was hooked. then the local track closed and they kinda sat there. we found out a few years later that another track had opened near by and this is about the time when i was 9-10. that was when i really started to learn about these little beast.

my dad stoped after a while and i kept going with it. i now know more than he does! and am trying to return the favor to him by putting together a 8th scale buggy for him to come race with me.

just show him the basics and he will catch on. let him wrench on the cars himself and just check over his work. thats what my dad did for me and it tought me alot.
