Default Futaba 3PK

Just purchased the new Futaba 3PK, does anyone know if the Hitec Module works with the new radio. I would like to use the Hitec Module and the Novak Synthesised Receiver.

Default Futaba 3PK Radio

rcfiend;

I just read on another message board (Radio Control Zone) that the Hitec module Glitches when used in the 3PK. It was tested by another 3PK owner.

Question,
since you own a 3PK now. Can the crystal be changed in the transmitter module with another crystal, say at the track, if there is a frequency conflit with another racer?

Let me know. I am a few days away from buying one to replace my 3PDF with.

Thanks,

Popsracer, thanks for the reply. Would you happen to know the URL to the website for the Radio Control Zone Message Board?

Yes you can change crystals in your module as long as its the same band as your receiver. By that I mean 75mhz module, 75mhz receiver. Hope this helps. This is my second Futaba, the first was the 3PJ, absolutely hated the radio. I have been using Airtronics radios for years, after seeing the changes they have made to the programming menus and how they improved the balance of the radio, not to mention it just flat looks cool, I had to buy one. I plan on giving it a try this weekend. Hope you enjoy the radio.

RC-Zombies, Can you really tell the difference w/HRS and digital servos? Have you tried the HITEC Module?

Thx.

I also have the 3PJS super with pcm reciever and digital servos.
and yes..there is a big difference using HRS and digital servos.

I wouldn't use the Hitec module on the 3PK.. you'll just have problems. and you will not be able to use the 3PK in the HRS mode. or switch to PCM or PPM(regular FM)

I was hoping the HITEC Module would work so I would'nt have to use crystals. I will also have to buy new receivers for all of my cars. Like I said, I used the Airtronics M8 for years. That means I will have to buy new receivers for 3 cars, not to mention new crystals, ouch!!

yup.. I had to buy some new receivers as well. the HRS receiver is not available in US yet. I was able to get another from HK for $85.00 from RcModel.
contact Terence at: [email protected]
if you're interested in getting another one. mention my name and he'll give you the best of service.

If you're 3pk is on 27mhz... haven't decided yet..but I might be selling a Futaba PCM receiver and/or LRP Phaser.

RC01 26.975
RC02 26.995 A1 BROWN U.S.
RC03 27.025
RC04 27.045 A2 RED U.S.
RC05 27.075
RC06 27.095 A3 ORANGE U.S.
RC07 27.125
RC08 27.145 A4 YELLOW U.S.
RC09 27.175
RC10 27.195 A5 GREEN U.S.

Default NEW receivers NOT needed.

Rcfiend;

Just curious as to why do you think you will need NEW receivers.(already on 27mhx?)
According to the 3PK manual, it is adjustable for FM, HRS, PPM & PCM modes and each vehicle can be in a different mode. Also the manual states that there is no 27mhz band model availible. (maybe in the USA only).

The FULL manual is availible for download on the Futaba website.

Just try a web search for Radio Control zone. It is sponsered by RC Car Action magazine (and publisher)

I am going to call the LHS and see if they got the 3PK in yet.

Thanks,

27mhz frequency band is available in the US. Tower hobbies has 27mhz and 75mhz listed for the 3pk.

Default 3PK at Tower

rc-zombies;

Tower is a little on the high side compared to what i can get one here for ($299).
Yep, I double checked the manual and your right, 27 & 75 bands are availible for the 3PK.
Confirm for me. The crystal is "racer" changable by removing the module and R & R-ing the crystal just like a Non-Module transmitter? Is this correct?

Thanks,
