Well maybe at a big race but Clubs are less likely to manage that. The tires then become obsolete very quickly under a minimum dia rule. What's worse is that they are illegal when they are at their best.

We run both 21.5 TC and 13.5 TC foam classes... I run the 21.5 and love it. We are putting down laps just a couple of tenths off of the 17.5 rubber... with a tighter course, we are close to the same. I have been getting 3+ full race days out of a set of tires easily. I swap left to right and haven't had to true them. I do check and adjust droop and ride height as needed though. The last set came off with some white rim showing through... good enough for 3rd place in the A main... I hadn't bought new tires in over a month. If these new spec tires last longer and have about the same traction, then great!

With Aaron trying them it's a great durability test of Paul's wheels if nothing else

I know layout has a effect on lap times between 21.5/17.5 but snowbirds ,and any layout we have ran at home using rubber tires in both classes our lap times only differ by .2-.3

One thing that has been consistently pointed out in recent posts is that the spec foams have proven to be of great benefit to our 1\12th scale racing. And I remember well all of the online naysaying back when spec 1\12th tires were just starting to be considered. Fact is, spec 1\12th scale tires have worked out great for a variety of reasons. Mind you, I don't run sedans, so I don't have a dog in the fight over their tires. But what I can say is that a new type of tire (for any class) that has the potential to cut costs and simplify things for the racer and\or make the competition closer,....then perhaps folks should be a little open minded and give it a chance before loudly declaring that the new and different tires are a bad thing that can't ever work.

Okay first run on these only change is 1/2 degree rear camber full sauce rear and about 1/5 front. 3/10s faster per lap consistently. Track is normally 8.7- 9.1 across the field per lap in the A-Mains on new Sorex 28rs.

Car needs to now be tuned for real tires (foam) that handle real good. Car feels in the carpet and dead consistent like a 1/12 car now. I like this a lot.

Not at all. Dialed with just full rear sauce and 1/5 sauce up front for 10 minutes.

Not even a hint of traction roll. Car definitely needs another tooth or two now it can carry more speed everywhere.

Gonna try even less sauce and less time this weekend.

On at least one run can you try no additive at all, just to see how they would then compare to rubbers.

Why? do you not run additive on rubber tires?

Ran these last weekend on medium grip grey CRC. About 3-4 tenths faster than fresh Sorex 28s.

Soooooo much fun to drive...

Yep. Most fun I’ve had driving TC cars. Foam is it man. Can extract a lot more performance out of the chassis with these things!

Skidding I’ll try that Sunday at the race and report back!

I’m going to start making the car more aggressive again setup wise because
there seems to be a much wider setup window with these than rubber. No hint of traction roll is a good thing.

I had .2mm of wear after 18 minutes of running with 21.5T.

Only downside is to fit them on the A800X is I have to run wheel spacers in the rear or dremel the AM23.

Hoping others at my local track will be up for giving foam a shot because I'd love to go back to 17.5T. We got tires of getting maybe two race days on a set of tires...
